Gezerah shavah
This is no easy task - two weeks ago the Commentary on the weekly readings talks about some very strange hypertext associations in Torah - it's a good read. And as Rabbi Daniel Nevins says - "you need a stack of books" and a good memory to do the reading. That's what I have going slowly for my prior post - just beginning to take shape - the allusions to the psalms in the New Testament... When I finish the first pass, I will take each one selectively and tease out the associations - what is that word 'gezerah shavah' (variously spelled) - it means literally a comparison of equals.
